Would you like to have a website for personal or business use? You can, without buying software, hiring a web developer, or paying a fee for creating or hosting the site. In three hands-on sessions, you will plan and create your site using Google sites. To see samples of sites created with this service, see our portfolio or view this site. Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge
Session #1: Planning of website and registering for the service.
Session #2: Creating the pages and editing the images.
Session #3: Designing the site-wide characteristics.
Have you ever noticed that when you do a search for a business, you often get a list and a map with balloon markers? That list is created by Google and the lists are Google+ Pages. Your business needs to appear on that list as high as possible to get the exposure you need in search results. This is a free service provided by Google. You need to create or claim your page and populate it with information. This will allow your business to more likely show up on the first page of search results without investing any money. This class will show you how to get started in accomplishing this important goal. Prerequisite to attend the class is basic computer knowledge.
If you have established your Google+ Local Page and want to explore other free services that Google offers, you’ll want to attend this workshop. You will learn how to use Adwords Express, Google Offers, and Hangouts—all which will help you market your business. Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge & Google+ Local Page
In this two-session hands-on class, you will learn the basic principles of using desktop publishing software to produce your own marketing materials. Discover how to create brochures, flyers, posters, and more to promote your business. Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge
In today’s fast-paced mobile business climate, having access to your files from different devices (including smartphones, tablets and computers that are outside of your office) can make your business more efficient. This two-hour workshop will show you how to use an online service to set up file synchronization between all of the devices and locations you need to work from. The service will also backup your data to the cloud. You can do all this for free for up to 5 gigabytes of storage. Bring your laptop, smartphones, and tablets to class and have it all set up before you leave. (We will be using a service called Cubby.) We will also cover how to use LogMeIn for remotely accessing your computers. Prerequisite: Basic computer knowledge
